Thinking of You

It was time to crack open my new Iconic Images
I think that I have used it once since I received it...so time to get inky!
I wanted a soft look, so I picked moss green and plum pudding.
I made the background using one of the images from Iconic Images.
I added the sentiment and the card came together quickly.
Have a great weekend!  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Megan!

Today is my niece's birthday!
It seems like just yesterday she was born!
She is such a delightful girl and we don't get to see her nearly enough!
She loves the colors green and purple, so her card was super easy to envision!
I know she will have a great day..hope you do too!  Enjoy!

Papertry Princess Challenge

A little it ago Leigh posted her Papertrey Princess Challenge.  You can read about it here: http://leighpenner.blogspot.com/2011/09/papertrey-princess-challenge.html
Leigh's challenge was to use two different patterned papers in your card.
I decided to make a fall card using some patterned paper that is perfect for fall.
I continue to love to use my Falling Leaves stamp set and this time opted to add the cute little acorns.
I roughed up the edges and added some twine to finish out my card.
Thanks for the challenge Leigh!
Enjoy!

Make It Monday- Frostd Imags

This weeks Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink looked like fun!
Lisa Johnson showed everyone how to make a frosted image.
I decided on a fall theme since the temperatures are getting cooler and the leaves are changing.
I used Autumn Acorns for the first time!
To frost the images I used dark chocolate on the bottom and terra cotta ink as the top layer.
I love the contrast and how it appears frosted!
So fun.  I will definitely use this technique again.
Enjoy!

Welcome Sweet Baby

One of my dear friends is expecting her first baby!
She married a little later in life and is so excited to be starting this journey!
I made her a stack of baby thank you cards and this adorable card using Falling Leaves and of course my picket fence die!
I love how the card turned out and I know my friend will to!
Enjoy!

Thank you

I loved the red, black and white combo of my last posted card,
so I decided to continue with that theme today.
I  used my large limitless layers to provide some dimension, along with the ribbon and button.
I love the clean look that the black and white provide!
I hope you enjoy!

Congrats

My daughter's skating coach recently took a new job.
This job could have huge implications on my daughter's skating career.
We are very excited for her and the future of the skate club.
So we wanted to  make her a card.
I really enjoy using the On Ice stamp set.
I wanted the skates to stand out, so I used Fresh Snow ink on pure poppy cardstock.
The Congrats is from one of the Think Big sets.
I really like the contrast between the red, black and white.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom's birthday.
I won't mention how old she is today but we are so blessed to have her in our lives on a daily basis!  She is such a strong person and is well deserving her own day to celebrate!
Making a card for her is always a challenge.
This is because she loves everything and sometimes it is hard to surprise her with something new.  Well I have not had any time to ink up my new stamps for last months release,
so this was the perfect time to do it.
My Mom was born and raised in Salina, Kansas.
She speaks so fondly of her life growing up and I remember visiting my grandparents
there numerous times.
So it was easy for me to turn to my new sunflower set...it reminded me of Kansas!
My daughter did not have school yesterday, so she wanted to try out my new Martha Stewart scissors and made the green "grass" behind the picket fence.
For my fence I ran it through my cuttle bug using the wood grain die to add texture.
I added some twine and stamped my sunflower stamp using both terra cotta and summer sunrise ink.
I love the effect!  I also added the hounds tooth in the background....I couldn't wait to ink it up!
I hope you enjoy the card as much as my Mom did!
