Hello Friend

Over the weekend Papertrey Ink hosted Stamp a Faire in Cincinnati.
During the day there were several challenges posted.
I was unable to participate on Saturday, so during the week I have been made a couple of cards.
The challenge for today's card was to create a card with a front cover that is cut back so you can use the extra lip to add whatever you want.
I opted to use the stamp Larger than Life on my lip.
I added the sentiment on the front to complete my card.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my brother!
This is the card I made for him.
When I make cards for males, I enjoying using earthtone colors.
With this card, I used Through the Trees along with Kraft, rustic cream,
simply chartreuse and a piece of patterned paper.
I added texture by using my wood grain impression plate and twine.
I know he will enjoy it!

Happy Birthday

A dear friend of mine has her 40th birthday coming up on Sunday.
Yesterday we spent the day traveling via a limo (out of the 99 degree temperatures)
for lunch and wine tasting.
There was a group of 8 ladies and boy did we have a fantastic time!
The best part was the birthday girl was so surprised!
After lunch we had our first tasting and then stopped at two local wineries for a little tasting.
We tasted some great wines but the best part was hanging with a group of 7 other terrific ladies!
This is the card that I made for my dear friend.
She loves the color pink, so it was an easy color palate to choose.
I love the look of Kraft, Dark Chocolate and Raspberry Fizz together.
By using a couple of different dies, I was able to make this wonderful card.
Enjoy!

Sympathy

Sympathy cards tend to be a struggle for me.
I don't want the card to be too happy but I want the person
receiving it to feel a nice warm hug from our family.
I have found that the anniversary set from PTI, Botanical Silhouettes,
allows me to get my message across just the way I want to.
This is a sympathy card I made this week for a dear friend who lost his Father.
I know the card will bring him and his family some comfort.

Hello There

Monday has come and gone...where is the time going?
The heat has definitely arrived in northern Indiana.
The forecast is for mid 90's all week.
I think we will be hanging out at the pool trying to stay cool!
I feel sorry for the roofers who are finishing up our roof this week!
This card makes me think of cool breezes which will be needed this week.
It was fun to use an impression plate and dies to make this card complete.
Enjoy!

Hello

I purchased the umbrella dies last month and have had so much fun playing with them.
It is always fun to use your new stamp stuff in different combinations!
I also love this color combination...bright enough to cheer anyone up!
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Yesterday my niece turned 3.
She is at such a fun age.
So busy and her non stop talking cracks me up!
We got to spend last weekend with her, so it was fun to
see how much she has changed in just a few short months.
This is the card I made for her.
Her favorite colors are pink and green.
So the paper for this card was easy!
I used several dies with this card.
I used the number die, limitless layers and large scalloped border.
I added some ribbon and a button with twine to complete the look.
I love it and I know she did to!
Happy Birthday KJ!  Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary

What a weekend we have had!
My parents celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary and
everyone got together for a huge party on Saturday!
It was great to have all of the kids and grand kids together to celebrate my parents!
We went on a dinner cruise on Lake Michigan and of course the highlights were the fireworks over the lake.
Here is the card that I made for my parents.
What an inspiration they are!  Congrats Mom and Dad!
