Best Wishes

I love Best Wishes cards because you can use them for a variety of occasions.
I whipped up this card to use as a birthday card.
While the card may seem a little nontraditional for a birthday, it allows me to put my own message inside the card.
I used aqua mist as the card base and build it up from there.
I added several layers for texture and love the finished project!
The receiver of this card will absolutely love it!
Enjoy!

Papertrey Playhouse Same Tag Challenge

Krista from Papertrey Playhouse posted the latest challenge.
She sent each one in the group an envelope of goodies.
In the envelope she put a tag that she asked each one of us to use in a project.
It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do.
I had about 30 minutes yesterday to head to my craft room to come up with my creation.
Since i do not have the jar filler stamps, I decided to use my Life set.
I added some flowery stems and my sentiment.
To create some depth, I use Basic Background: Text Style using versa mark in the background of my ripe avocado card stock.
I also added some plum pudding ink to the edge of my base and tag.
A piece of purple ribbon completed my card.
This was a fun challenge to participate in.
I can't wait to see what the others in the group come up with!
Enjoy!

Merci

I have been trying to do more work with color.
I love it when others that would like cards ask me to do this!
This one incorporate raspberry fizz and simply chartreuse and I love the combination!
Add my favorite Kraft in the background with a little embellishment and I love the results.
I hope you do to!
Enjoy!

Thank You Tag

Last night we went over to friends house in the neighbor to celebrate a huge Back to School Party!
The kiddos head back to school on Wednesday!
I think both the kids and the adults are ready!
The party gave the adults a chance to catch up after a very busy summer.
It was so great to see so many familiar faces that we have barely seen over the summer.
Like many of our friends, we took a bottle of wine to mark the occasion.
I added a tag to my bottle as a little thank you token.

I used my tag die on Kraft paper and added a rustic cream circle from my new 2 1/2 inch circle die.
I added some color in ripe avocado and raspberry fizz from Botanical Silhouettes.
A little tea die color on the side and some bakers twine and it was completed!
Enjoy!

PTI Princess Challenge

Today I am sharing my card that I made for the Papertrey Princess Challenge.
Vanessa posted her challenge here: http://saffiresstamping.blogspot.com/2011/08/papertrey-princess-challenge-hot-or.html  and encouraged us to make either a hot or a cold card.
I opted to make a cold card using blue, actually ocean tides.
I decided to use only tone on tone for fun.
It was a challenge but I liked how the card turned out.
Enjoy!

Thinking of you

Today's card is being sent to a family that is going through a rough time.
I wanted it to be bright and cheery.
So I turned to purples and oranges to make a statement.
I am pleased with how it turned out and I know the recipient will be grateful.
Enjoy!

You're so tweet!

This is a cute card that is used made Taylored Expressions stamps.
Her stamps are so fun to use!
This stamp allowed me to decide where to put the leaves and the cute little bird.
I added the rounded corners, twine and a button for interest!
Enjoy!

Just a note....

A couple of months ago when the picket fence die was released through Papertrey Ink,
I was really on the fence.
Would I use the die enough to warrant purchasing it?
Well after seeing all of the neat cards in blogland that used it.....my answer was yes!
I just got my picket fence die in the mail and I had to use it!
I used the wood grain impression plate on rustic cream yardstick before I used the picket fence die.
I love the result!  I then used a little ink to make it look rustic!
I pair the fence with some bright colors to make this card extra happy.
The person that is receiving this card will appreciate all of the bright colors!
Enjoy!

PTI Princess Challenge

I am a little late since the next PTI Princess Challenge was posted but I still wanted to participate in the last challenge!
The challenge was to create a card that you are going to give to someone.
Well we are going to a wedding this weekend, so I decided to use my wedding card for the challenge.
We can't wait to go and catch up with some great friends!
Enjoy the card!

Thinking of you

Today's card is using one of the challenges that were offered at Stamp a Faire a couple of weeks ago.
The challenge was to use charcoal and raspberry fizz as your colors of choice.
I love this color combination but it is not one that I use frequently, so the challenge was a great opportunity.
I used my Love Birds set along with some texture from my ribbon and the cane impression plate.
Enjoy!
