Felt: hair clip and card

So after seeing all of the wonderful projects that fellow crafters posted using felt on Paptertrey Ink, I was inspired to make a felt hair clip. My daughter loves to have her hair done in all different ways, so this will be a perfect addition to her collection- she will be surprised this afternoon!

For the hair clip, I covered the alligator clip in cream ribbon. Using my nestabilities, I cut out a flower shape using dark chocolate felt. Next I cut out a butterfly out of chartreuse using the PTI butterfly die. I added a dark chocolate button with some twine and I was set to go. I love how it turned out!

Since I was using felt, I decided to make a card. I cut out three butterflies using PTI's chartreuse felt and added dark chocolate buttons and twine. I adhered then to a Kraft card base and a piece of dark chocolate card stock stamped with vintage cream ink using my Basic Backgrounds: Geometrics. I added Best Wishes using my Mega Mixed Messages and some rhinestones to finish it off. I love the punch this card provides!

PTI May Blog Hop Challenge

This months PTI Blog Hop Challenge was to use felt.  There are so many creative ways to use felt but I decided to stick with a card this time.  I not only love using the PTI felt but I love using the dies with it since it cuts so easily.  So for this card I used both the rick rac die and the butterfly die on dark chocolate felt.  Enjoy!

Teacher Cards

As the kids school year comes to a close, it is time to prepare teacher gifts.  Going with their gifts, I always like to include a homemade card to show how much we appreciated the school year.  These are the three that I made this year.  The first two are for the kids teachers and the last one is for their aide.  It has been a great school year, I am sorry to see it come to a close but I certainly will not miss the morning routine!

So Sweet

I have been busy in my craft room altely.  It has been fun to have work wind down and to be able to get in and play with all of my supplies.  I have gotten some scrapbook related items completed and several cards made.  Today I made this cute card.  I used Kraft and Hawaiian Shores cardstock with Dotty Biscotti patterned paper.  I used my flower die for the flowers and Dawn's Signature Greetings for the sentiment in Hawaiian Shore ink.  I love how it turned out.  Enjoy:)

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary.... I totally copied parts a card that Nicole Heady recently posted on her blog for Papertrey Ink.   I couldn't wait to try the color combination and she was right, it is even more awesome in person!  I used the dark chocolate, summer sunrise and spring moss on rustic crem cardstock.  I love how it turned out and will use this color combination again!

Thinking of You

I made this card this weekend for Cousin Genia.  Genia is my Mother in Law's cousin.  We love her so much. She is in her 80's and in poor health but is a constant inspiration in our lives.  She is not able to write, so I send her cards and pictures on a regular basis.  She loves to show her students all of the pictures.  Genia is a world famous opera singer who sang in Europe for over 25 years.   She continues to teach daily and her students help her in ways that we cannot since we are so far away.  Enjoy the card.

Congrats

With the kids making their First Communion this weekend, it was a perfect opportunity to make congratulations cards.  For Joshua's, I used my new  woodgrain stamp set, along with Say it with Style and Big Wishes and others.  It was fun to use so many sets to complete this card.
