Congratulations its twins

A friend of mine asked me to make her a baby card for newborn twins.  It sounds easy of enough but I found it difficult to figure out how to include both boy and girl colors without either one of them overwhelming the other.  Well I drew my inspiration from the latest blog hop at Papertrey Ink.  Erin Lincoln in her latest pod cast talked about inspiration and if you see a card do you copy it exactly or put your own spin on it.  I found this topic intriguing because I see so many cards out there I love but do like to add more own spin.  So to make a long story short...Crazycurl made this card for the blog hop:

I loved the simplicity of her design and it got me thinking about how I could incorporate parts of her design into my own.  This is what I came up with......
Thanks Crazycurl for your inspiration!  Enjoy!

Paper Players Challenge...Thank You

I decided to play along with all of the ladies from Paper Players today.
Nance Leady designed the following sketch:

I needed to make a Thank You card for my parents.  They made my birthday last week, so special!
I used a variety of stamp sets to complete this look.  They included Falling Leaves, Life and Luck of the Irish.  I choose to use ripe avocado, dark chocolate and raspberry fizz ink and used a white ink pen to add the centers of the flowers.  I am really happy with this card.  It feels like spring!  Enjoy!

Thank You

I decided to pull out my dot spots.  These stamps are just a happy set to me.  I decided to use terra cotta, dark chocolate and simply chartreuse on Kraft cardstock.  Next I stamped Thank you using Say it with Style in dark chocolate on simply charteuse cardstock.  I used my copics to color in the saying and added a pop dot behind the sentiment.  I love how it turned out, however, I need to do a couple card with this set in Spring colors!  Enjoy!

Miss You

Today's card is a miss you card with a simple design.  I decided to use vellum for my sentiment for a change of pace.  I like the dots and the bitty boxes just to add some contrast. Enjoy!

Grateful

I am so lucky to have a core group of close girl friends that are amazing.  Last week one of them went far beyond the usual, so I made this card for her.  When I get a load of scraps, I like to turn to my Martha Stewart punch and cut out butterflies!  I had quite a variety of colors, so I settled on a deep rich tone.  I used a background stamp and a simple sentiment to let her know how grateful I was, so win-win all the way around.  Enjoy!

Ink: Ripe avocado, plum pudding, orange zest, raspberry fizz, hibiscus burst
Paper: spring rain, ripe avocado, white
Other: ribbon, corner chomper

Totally Hues Challenge #4

Today I am participating in Totally Hues Challenge.

For this challenge, the corresponding PTI colors are Lemon Tart, Plum Pudding, Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf & the neutrals of your choice.  I thought that this color combination would be easier than it turned out to be.  I usually do not work with lemon tart to often, so it was great to jump in and figure out what the best color combo would be.  I decided to complete a spring card...one day it will warm up in Indiana!
I used a raspberry fizz base with bitty box basics in lemon tart as the background for my neutral.  I finished the edge with Dawn's edger die.  Next I stamped my wreath in New Leaf with Plum Pudding dots.  This stamp is from Wreath of all Seasons.  Lastly I added two new leaf buttons and a strip of plum pudding ribbon.  I really like how my card turned out.  Enjoy!

Baby...luck of the Irish

I have one more baby card to post.  This one was made especially for a bundle of joy that was born last week on St. Patrick's Day!  Addie made her grand debut on this special day for this wonderful family!  I used Argyle in the background before adding another Baby Button Bits Stamp.  This little sweet pea was filled with sweet blush buttons.  I added Luck of the Irish from an Irish set.  I love how the card turned out!  So sweet and precious like the new little bundle of joy!  Enjoy!

Baby..a new little someone

Here is another baby girl card I made this weekend.  My daughter and I hung out this afternoon and made a couple cards since the weather was slightly less than desirable!  Frustrating after spending most of the day outside yesterday!  Well we took advantage of the time and had a great time.  She made a variety of cards while I worked on some more baby cards and a couple of others.  You can't get anymore girly than this with the pink paper, button and glitter!  Baby Button Bits makes it so easy and cute!  Enjoy!

Baby-Congratulations

A friend of mine asked me to make some baby cards.  This is not something that I regularly do but baby cards are fun to make!  She requested some girl cards.  I pulled out my Baby Button Bits  and had fun putting this pink card together.  I used my Book Print Impression Plate as a background.  I love all of the texture with the ribbon, buttons and pop dots I used to pop the snail piece.  Enjoy!

Thank you

This is a second Thank you card that I had made for the Make it Mondays at Papertrey Ink but never posted.  It was fun to use so many different stamps sets to make this card!  I love the scarlet color and the yellow together!  Enjoy!

Miss You

I continue to love to use my Love Birds set.  So here is another card that not only uses that set but incorporates alot of different elements.  I always enjoy using twine but with all of the added layers, I think it really helps to set the card off.  Enjoy!

Make it Mondays

It is time for Make it Mondays at Papertrey Ink.
Untitled-1
This week the challenge is to use an impression plate on only part of your paper.  While I have a couple of them and I love the texture it gives a card, I don't always remember that I have them!  This was a great way to get me to use what I have!
In my card I used the Background Basics: Diamond Impression Plate on aqua mist card stock.  It is really hard to tell in the picture.  I then layer that over distressed dots and Kraft card stock.  I added a rustic cream border along with scarlet jewel ribbon and button on the part that I did not use my IP on.  My sentiment is from Flower Fusion #1 and so is the flower.  I love that the card has all this texture and weight to it.  Enjoy!

Make It Mondays- #5

This weeks Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink  is to use distressed edges.  This challenge was right up my alley  I love to distress edges with my Tim Holtz distresser.
So for my card, I choose to make the grass distressed for my cute flower.  I used Simply Chartreuse paper along with rustic cream and Kraft.  I added my flower using the new Flower Fusion #1 set is chartreuse, dark chocolate and raspberry fizz.  I added a button with some twine, some inking along the edges and some stitching on the sewing machine.  Simply a happy card!  Enjoy!

Here is a close up of the distressed edge.

The week after next I am hosting a craft party with my friend.  She will be selling her Thirty One Gifts  and I will have my papercrafts on hand.  When the two of us get together, we have so much fun...then throw in a large handful of friends and it should be a blast!  Several people have been requesting tags, so I have been busy making them!  Outside of papercrafts, I have been making a couple of items to hang up in the house.  I will have to post those in the the future!  Enjoy!
