Wishing you the best

My card today uses some of the new goodies I got in my latest PTI box!  I used the Circles stamp set to create the sentiment border.  I really like the small contrast in color in this card...it feels like the shades of green really blend in with the linen color.  Enjoy!

Thinking of You

I hope everyone had a great Easter.  We had such a blast the last three days!  Now back to reality!

Today's card uses the new Turning a New Leaf die that I stamped in ocean tides.  I used Fillable Frames additions to make with sentiment tag.  Enjoy!

Make it Mondays

This weeks Make it Monday Challenge at Papertrey Ink was to emboss using dies.  This is not something that I do on a regular basis.  I am not sure how much I like my card since this was my first try but here it goes....
I used the largest new turning leaf die to emboss simply chartreuse paper.  I added a patterned paper butterfly, a sentiment from Fillable Frames Additions and two orange zest buttons.  Enjoy!

Sending you warm wishes

I have another card today that I made with my Sending You set.  I paired the die cut with royal velvet and matching patterned paper, all on Kraft card stock.  I added some ripe avocado ribbon, button and some distressing ink on the edges.  I really like how this card turned out.  Enjoy!

Did anyone get some new goodies from the PTI release last night?  I can't wait for my box to arrive!

Make it Mondays

This weeks Make it Mondays was masking with dies.
This was a fun challenge for me because while I use my dies frequently, I have not used this technique.
I opted to use my Flower Fusion # die and masked with aqua mist, orange zest and hibiscus.
I added a hibiscus center using a dot from Dot Spots
The background on the flowers was made by using Tin Types in hibiscus.
I used the Flower Fusion #1 stem in simply chartreuse and the sentiment as well (it is in the top right corner, it did not show up well in the picture!)
I distressed the edges and added a ribbon in ripe avocado before adding a strip of patterned paper on my spring rain card base.
I am really please with how this card turned out.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

I continue to love to use my Sending You  set.  I love the versatility of it and how I can combine it with other stamp sets.  I used my royal velvet paper for the first time and wow do I like the color and of course the matching ribbon!  I wish PTI had the ink.  I used a purple I had in my stash but it is hard to match the colors. I am really enjoying the royal velvet and ripe avocado colors together! Enjoy!

Wishing you well

Hello my crafty friends!  After taking a great week off with my kiddos to enjoy spring break, I am back!  We had such a great week and reality hit a little hard this morning as the alarm rang out this morning!  Only 8 more weeks of school and then we can enjoy the summer!  We can't wait!

On to my card.  I used a vellum strip with my wishing you well sentiment. I added baker's twine and place it on top of a dark chocolate bitty dots on a Kraft base.  I added a fillable frames tag and the image from Daily Designs and the stripes from Asian Fusion.  Enjoy!

Make It Monday

We are back from Chicago after enjoying a couple of days in the windy city.  It is always great to see family and to spend some time in such a great city!  We walked more steps than ever before but boy did we have a great time!
This week's Make it Monday Challenge was to heat emboss.  This is something that I enjoying doing but just don't always make the time to do it.  I needed to a thank you card, so this is what I came up with.  Enjoy!

Hello

We are sending a happy hello from Chicago!  We are having a blast and too bad we have to head back to school next week!  I think we are all ready for summer!

My card was made using the Sending You set.  I am having fun using this new set!  I added a strip of pretty pastel (I have used it a lot lately...it is amazing how far once piece of paper can go!)  Of course, I had to add some buttons!  Enjoy!

Get Well

Our Dear Cousin Genia who is over 80, recently fell and broke her leg.  She had to have surgery to repair the damage.  So my daughter and I made her get well cards.  We both used the Sending You set with the same technique.  My daughter stamped the background on both and then we each made a card.

First my card: the background is stamped on lemon tart using orange zest, hibiscus and spring moss.  I punched the bottom edge with a Martha Stewart punch and added a strip of orange zest cardstock.  On the strip I added a get well sentiment from Sending You and a button.  It was put on ripe avocado card base.  Enjoy!

My daughter's card:  She used a red card base and stamped with spring rain and simply chartreuse.  She added a strip in spring rain with a decorative edge by Martha Stewart.  Lastly she added a sentiment from Sending You and a button.  Enjoy!
We had a blast crafting yesterday before packing to head out of town for a couple of days to enjoy Spring Break.  We can't wait to see our cousins and spend some time in downtown Chicago enjoying the museum's and the zoo!  We are hoping it will warm up a little bit!
Have a great start to the week!

Make It Monday

The Make it Monday challenge this week was to blend inks to give your card a different look.   Well I have to admit I couldn't decide if I really wanted to post this card because I had never used this technique before and I am not exactly thrilled with the results but the goal is to challenge yourself!  I will admit I did get the hang of it once I got going but I certainly have some work to do!  Enjoy!
