"Tis the Season

Christmas time at our house is always a little crazy.
You add in all the added parties, crafts, decorating, baking and gift giving to our already crazy schedule, sometimes I wonder when we sleep!
Even though the kids are going in a lot of different directions, we still make time for the Christmas season to be special.
For us, it is not about the gifts, it is about spending more time together with each other, family and friends.
We have found that by focusing a little time each night on what is important, it has made the season that more magical.
One of the crafty projects I have been working on is Christmas tags.
Here is the first set.
I hope your Christmas season is just as magical as ours.
Enjoy!

Sympathy

As my parents age, so do their friends.
We lost a terrific man last week to the dreaded disease, ALS.
He fought long and hard but ALS eventually won, as it always does.
I made this card for his sweet wife, whose world has changed so drastically in the last year.
I pray that she has the strength and courage to move forward during this challenging time.

Happy Birthday

Long time, no post!
Life is crazy busy but in a good way!
My niece had a birthday last month and she looks forward to my card every year.
Even though the picture is not the best, I put the green chevron paper on purple cardstock.
No surprise, she loved it and I loved making it for her!
Happy Birthday my sweet Megan!

Congrats

Wow this summer is going way too fast!
School starts in two weeks!
We are so not ready!
We have had such a great summer, I don't want to have start making lunches again!
Anyways, several months ago my niece graduated from 8th grade!
We had a great party and of course that warranted a card!
She always looks so forward to my cards, so this is what I made for her.
Meg, we are so proud of you and good luck with that crazy high school schedule!
Enjoy!

Turning 40....

I wish I could say I was only turning 40 but the truth is I am a little bit,
only as little bit older than that!
This card was for our lovely neighbor who turned 40 over the weekend.
He is such a special guy.
He has Downs Syndrome and lives with his sister and her family.
We are fortunate to see him pretty frequently.
He has such a great heart and always asks if he can help me do things around the yard!
Well for his 40th birthday he wanted a big party and that is what he got!
We ate tacos and red velvet cupcakes, sang Karaoke and had a tons of laughs!
Happy Birthday big guy!
Enjoy!

Skating Thank You

June was a super busy month for our family.
Outside of completing all of the 4H projects, my daughter had a huge
skating competition and testing.
We had a great time skating in Grand Rapids!
As a thank you to her coach, we made her this card.
I wanted to use bring colors since it is summer!
I love how it turned out.
Enjoy!

Here is my beauty at the end of her free skate program.

Schools Out!

School is out!
We actually have been out for a week but we jumped head first into all kind of summer activities.
We love summer with it's less structured routine and lots of sleeping in!
The kiddos are officially in Jr. High!  Wow, time goes fast!
We always give the teachers a huge thank you at the end of the year.
Here is the first of two cards.
Enjoy!

happybirthday

Hello!
Male birthday cards are not always the easiest to make.
I opted to keep this one super simple.
I love the male colors of olive and kraft!
The button adds the finished touch with a simple message of Happy Birthday!
Enjoy!

Birthday Wishes

Has it really been over a month since my last post?
Well I can honestly say, life has gotten the best of me!
We are way too busy with mostly good things, so I guess I should not be surprised!

I made this card for my lovely SIL for her birthday.
They will actually be here in about an hour for a long weekend.
We can't wait to see everyone!
We are going to have one rocking house!

Easter Blessing to everyone!
Enjoy!

Thanks so much!

After a super busy 3 day weekend, the kids are back in school and it is time to get to work!
We had such a blast sledding (twice), going to the movies, skiing and hanging out with friends all weekend.
Bummer that it is back to school and work today!

Here is a card I made a few weeks back.
You can never have too many thank you cards!
These have come in handy so much lately with everything going on with my parents, we are always reaching for a thank you card!

Hope your week is terrific!
Enjoy!

Valentine's Day

Whew...is it Valentine's Day already?
Has it really been that long since I have posted?
Well way too much to be going on to explain, except for to say there has been no time for crafting.

I did manage to get into my craft room and whip up some
Valentine toppers for the annual teacher's caramels.
Once a year, I make these to absolutely to die for caramels to give out to various people.  The list includes the kids current and past teachers since they all ask for them!  This year that did not happen.  So just two bags were made, so it made the task pretty quick.
Apparently they were well received!

Since the kiddos are in 5th grade, Valentines are not quite as fun as they used to be.
So I used this idea for my son.
All of his friends were super excited about the straws and it made for a great item this year!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all!
Hope to see you really soon!
