Thanks so much

I made this cute thank you card for my boss at Notre Dame.  She continues to be generous at Christmas time and this card was so fun to make for her.  The added bonus for me was to be able to ink up my new set, Litty Bitty Bird.  This is such a fun set!  I used the matching dies to cut out the little bird out of felt then stamped right on top!  I used copics to color the leaves and added a little twine to finish out the card.
We are expecting a big snow storm.  I love being snowed in with my kiddos but don't enjoy making up the snow day in June!  We will see what happens!  Enjoy!

You are the beat of my heart

Here is another card using my Love Birds set.  The colors are Hawaiian shores with rustic white.  The sentiments says "you are the beat of my heart", the Hawaiian shores ink did not show up very well in the picture.  Enjoy!

Kindness

Today's card was inspired by PTI's latest blog hop.
The challenge was to use a set you have not used in a while or a new set of stamps.  I opted to use my tea cup additions.
While I had my grand caliber out, I cut out the tea cup, flower and eyelet border using my dies.
I love the color combination and how the card turned out.
 Enjoy!

PTI Blog Hop

It is that time of the month for the Papertrey Ink blog hop.
Th challenge this month is to use a PTI stamp set that has not been inked or one that has been collecting dust.
I decided to combine both the PTI blog hop and The Paper Players Challenge 31 together to make my card.  Challenge 31 can be found here: http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/2011/01/challenge-31-sketch-challenge.html
Here is the sketch.....

I decided to pull out my Life and Mega Mixed Messages sets.  Both have been collecting dust and have been begging to be used.  I love the simplicity of Life and Mega Mixed Messages always has the right saying I am looking for.  For my card I choose to use Hawaiian Shores and Kraft card stock with my library card die cut out of rustic cream.  I added a bit of Green Boutique paper by using my eyelet lace border die.  I used Hawaiian shores and dark chocolate ink.  The saying "Friends to the end" did not show up very well, especially in the picture, in the Hawaiian shores ink, I think next time I would opt for dark chocolate.  I finished the card by adding a Hawaiian shores button with a little jute twine.  I hope you enjoy my card!

Peace

EDIT:  It is anniversary day one at Papertrey Ink.   This is always such a fun time of the year!  Nicole has lots planned this week and many contests.  The first is today!  She has asked us to go back through all of our projects and find one that we absolutely love.  Well I picked this one that I did fairly recently, called PEACE.   I chose this one because of the clean and simple style but also for my love of the set Wreath for all Seasons.   I need to use it more.  I hope you enjoy the card.

Using my Wreath for all Season, I was able to create this card that could be used for a variety of occasions.  The simple design sends a big message.  Enjoy!

Miss You

My crafting fun continues with the use of Love Birds, from Papertrey Ink.  This set is so easy and versatile!  I simply used pop dots to raise the bird cage off the card base and added some bakers twine and printed card stock to pull it all together.  It may be an unusual color combination but it looks great!  Enjoy!

I miss you

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  We sure did.  Abby and I were in Columbus for her skating competition.  She did awesome in her division and took first place!  We had fun traveling with her BFF and her Mom.  Fun to travel with great friends!  The kids don't have school today, so we have been chilling most of the morning and are heading out to sled this afternoon.  I love having these days off school to hang out with the kids. We are so busy that the downtime is awesome!
Abby and I made a couple of cards this morning.  Today I am posting I miss you.  I am loving the Love Nest set from PTI.  So versatile and fun to use!  Enjoy!

Sympathy-Paper Dolls Challenge #29

Simplicity..that is the Papertrey PaperDolls Challenge #29.  I decided to enter my Sympathy card into this challenge because I really do like to keep my cards simple.  To add to this card I used my wood grain impression plate.  I like the look it added without detracting from the ultimate message.  Sorry the picture is so bad...not sure what happened!  Enjoy!

Crafty kind of day

The weather here in South Bend has been a little unpredictable the last couple of days, so after working this morning, I decided to stay home this afternoon and craft until it was time to get the kids from school.  Instead of making cards, I decided to make a few home decorating ideas that I have had floating around for a while.  I had most of the stuff on hand, so it was easy to put together.
The first is a coffee filter wreath.  I saw this posted on another blog a while back and have had the stuff to make it, just never got to it.  It was so simple and turned out great!  I think next time I make it, I will use the brown coffee filters for a different look.  I decided to hang it from my distressed window that I redid a couple of weeks ago.  Now I just need to get it hung on the wall.

Here is the side view that my daughter took, she did a great job!

I also made this little tree.  I purchased everything half price at Hobby Lobby, gotta love that.  It was so simple to put together.  I actually made two but have not decided where I am going to put them yet.

Lastly, I made these simple yarn trees.  I purchased the styrofoam cones at the dollar store and the yarn was 50% off at Michael's.  Can't beat that.  A little hot glue and I was good to go.  I will have to find a spot for these as well.  I have a couple of more projects that I need to complete, then I am actually going to start decorating downstairs.  Since I finished up the majority of the unpacking earlier this week, it will be easy and fun now that everything is out.  More on that later!  I like how you can see how snowy the backyard is in the reflection of the mirror!  Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day

After a great weekend away with friends crafting, it was fun to be able to post some of the results!  There is nothing like getting away from reality with great friends and doing something you love.  I was able to remount all of my stamps, finish up Project Life for 2010, finish up a couple of lingering scrapbook pages and have some great conversations!  Too bad the weekend went so fast!
Today's card is another for Valentine's Day.  I love using some non traditional colors in this card.  The green adds a pop of color, don't you think?  I also had fun using my new set Love Birds so cute and fun.  Enjoy!

Sympathy

At the end of last week we found out that my son's teachers, Father-in-Law had passed away.  So today I made a sympathy card.  I find that these are sometimes the hardest to make but I always turn to my Through the Trees stamps from Papertrey Ink.  This set is so soothing to me and I hope to others.

Valentines....

It is hard to believe that the New Year is here!  I am in the midst of packing up my crafty stuff to head out for a great weekend with friends and all things crafty.  We have a great group of ladies going this year and it will prove to be the best year ever!  I can't wait!  As I am packing up and reorganizing my craft space, I am finding all kinds of scrap paper, buttons and misc stickers.  I am going to try and use up some of these supplies.  Not only is it challenging but is a good way to recycle some items!
Today's card is all about Valentine's Day.  This gave me the opportunity to use up some scrap paper and use a color combination (red and pink) that I do not use that often.  Enjoy!
