Best Wishes

I decided to conclude the 2010 crafts year with another scrap card.  I love it when I go through my scrap bin and find just the right pieces to go together!  This card was so simple because the die cut was already done and the button already had the jute twine...love that!  I look forward to all the paper crafts to come in 2011!  Happy New Year and best wishes in 2011!  Enjoy!

December PTI Blog Hop

It is hard to believe that Christmas is over and we are now looking forward to the New Year.
Today it is time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.

This months challenge was to use up your scraps.  Since my scrap bin is overflowing with bits of ribbon, card stock, already die cut pieces, this was a perfect opportunity to use up this stash!  I opted to not make a holiday card but thinking of you.
Using my scraps made this card so easy to make... I need to do this more often!  Enjoy!

Joy

Here is my final card for Christmas.  I made this card for my 16 year old niece who will much appreciate a girly card and the gift card inside even more!
Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Christmas Cheer

Here is a great Christmas card I made for my nephew.  He is 16 and while he does appreciate a gift card at Christmas time, he would much prefer a more masculine looking card!  How can you go wrong with green and red and just a simple message.  Enjoy!

Joy!!

Here is another non paper Christmas project.  I purchased some vinyl online (she had a great tutorial on how to add the vinyl to wood) and made these Joy signs.  I started with wood and painted it either dark red or creme.  I distress it, added the vinyl and the decor!  Arent' they cute?  My Mom will love one of these and so will a couple of friends!  Enjoy!

From paper to sewing

Christmas time is such a fun time to spread my wings and find creative outlets other than paper.  When looking for crafty ideas, I ran across this quick and easy barely sew scarf!  Here is the link:  http://justanotherhangup.blogspot.com/2010/12/easy-peasy-scarf.html  All I needed was some felt, matching thread and my sewing machine.  I noted after the fact that I did not put as many pleats in mine...still turned out cute!  After they were done, I easily made some gift tags and wrapped it up as suggested.  So fun to do something different!  I have a couple of more projects to share over the next couple of days!  Enjoy!

Clear Stamp Storage Solved!

Since we moved into our new old house recently and I am still trying to find the best places for all of my crafty stuff, I had been pondering for quite some time the best way to store my every growing collection of Papertrey Ink stamps.  While I put them in the CD case that they come with and add a white background for the label, I realized how bulky everything was getting as my CD cases piled up.  So I happen to be on the PTI forum earlier this week and Jennifer from Maple Street Menagerie posted back in August this great way to store PTI stamps.  Here is the link: http://jskinney.blogspot.com/2010/08/clear-stamp-storage.html  So I thought I would try it with one of the latest I had purchased but not put in a CD yet.  Wow....I am so thankful I tried this.  My stamp storage solution has been solved!  Thank you Jennifer!  I still need to get the folder but that will come.  I can't wait to store my other stamps this way, especially the sets that are small and can be combined together!
Here is a picture of my first completed set!  Enjoy!

Holiday Greetings

I have not had a lot of time in my craft "space" since we have been so busy wth our house but I did manage to make some cards for the kiddos teachers.  I love this Trimming the trees set because I can decorate it!  So cute!  Enjoy!

Gift Purses

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine had an open house.  I had a couple of my craft items there and a mutual friend saw my little gift purses.  She was so taken with them.  Fortunate for me, she sells Silpada Jewelry and she wanted me to make 20 purses to use at one of her parties!  Yeah for me!  Another chance to be crafty!  She told me the colors she wanted and I designed them for her.
I love the clean look of the Black, white and silver.  They are simple but still elegant.  She was not sure what she was going to fill them with but I can't wait to see!  Enjoy!

December has arrived...

December has arrived and so has the snow in northern Indiana!  The kids were excited to see a dusting of snow on the ground this morning and by the time school got out, we had a lot more!  We decided to go ice skating since the rink just opened!  The kids had a blast with their friends.  After a quick dinner of chicken noodle soup to warm us all up, it was time for homework!  Once that was done my daughter decided to get creative.  We have not been able to get any of our Christmas decorations out yet since the living room (and a couple of other rooms) are not done yet...so she made a Christmas tree out of some Styrofoam we got in a package today!  I love how she cut it out and then painted it!  Tomorrow will be for ornaments and other festive touches!  So even though the real tree is not up...we still can be festive!
