Birthday Wishes

Has it really been over a month since my last post?
Well I can honestly say, life has gotten the best of me!
We are way too busy with mostly good things, so I guess I should not be surprised!

I made this card for my lovely SIL for her birthday.
They will actually be here in about an hour for a long weekend.
We can't wait to see everyone!
We are going to have one rocking house!

Easter Blessing to everyone!
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Today is such a great day!
Ten years ago my babies came into the world!
Wow what a wild ride it has been.
We are so blessed with sweet and amazing kids.
So now we enter the tween years and continue along this amazing adventure.
Happy Birthday kiddos!  We are so blessed to have you in our lives!
Today I will share my sons card.
My son is a simple, no nonsense kind of kid.
Thus his card is simple and to the point.
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom's birthday.
I won't mention how old she is today but we are so blessed to have her in our lives on a daily basis!  She is such a strong person and is well deserving her own day to celebrate!
Making a card for her is always a challenge.
This is because she loves everything and sometimes it is hard to surprise her with something new.  Well I have not had any time to ink up my new stamps for last months release,
so this was the perfect time to do it.
My Mom was born and raised in Salina, Kansas.
She speaks so fondly of her life growing up and I remember visiting my grandparents
there numerous times.
So it was easy for me to turn to my new sunflower set...it reminded me of Kansas!
My daughter did not have school yesterday, so she wanted to try out my new Martha Stewart scissors and made the green "grass" behind the picket fence.
For my fence I ran it through my cuttle bug using the wood grain die to add texture.
I added some twine and stamped my sunflower stamp using both terra cotta and summer sunrise ink.
I love the effect!  I also added the hounds tooth in the background....I couldn't wait to ink it up!
I hope you enjoy the card as much as my Mom did!

Best Wishes

I love Best Wishes cards because you can use them for a variety of occasions.
I whipped up this card to use as a birthday card.
While the card may seem a little nontraditional for a birthday, it allows me to put my own message inside the card.
I used aqua mist as the card base and build it up from there.
I added several layers for texture and love the finished project!
The receiver of this card will absolutely love it!
Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my brother!
This is the card I made for him.
When I make cards for males, I enjoying using earthtone colors.
With this card, I used Through the Trees along with Kraft, rustic cream,
simply chartreuse and a piece of patterned paper.
I added texture by using my wood grain impression plate and twine.
I know he will enjoy it!

Happy Birthday

Yesterday my niece turned 3.
She is at such a fun age.
So busy and her non stop talking cracks me up!
We got to spend last weekend with her, so it was fun to
see how much she has changed in just a few short months.
This is the card I made for her.
Her favorite colors are pink and green.
So the paper for this card was easy!
I used several dies with this card.
I used the number die, limitless layers and large scalloped border.
I added some ribbon and a button with twine to complete the look.
I love it and I know she did to!
Happy Birthday KJ!  Enjoy!

Birthday Tag

When it comes to giving birthday gifts, who would not like a cute homemade tag?
I had a bunch of little tags several weeks go and never got around to post them.
This week I have been knee deep in 24 yards of fabric, trying to get curtains made for a friend whose house is in the showcase of homes in our area this weekend!
Now that they are done, I can get back to focusing on other projects!
Enjoy!

Think BIG Challenge

Today at Papertrey Ink, Nichole is hosting a challenge to think big.  Use a big embellishment, tag, button, etc.  I choose to use one of the biggest sentiments I have along with Mat Stack 4 and the big numbers.  I love how the card turned out with added elements of the bakers twine, BB: Text Style in the background and the scor pal marks.  This card packs a BIG punch!  Enjoy!

PTI Color Challenge-#1

The Papertrey Ink  festivities continue today with a color challenge.  Nichole has asked all of the design team members to pick there favorite color combination and create a card.  Our challenge is to use the colors!  I have made several cards today to participate and my goal was not only to follow the color combination but to use a different stamp set on each card.  This was so much fun!
The first color combination I used was by Heather Nichols.

My color combo.  Enjoy!

Happy Birthday

Thank you to everyone for their sweet comments on the latest PTI blog hop.  It is so fun to participate and see what creative juices everyone has!
This month continues with another birthday card.  My niece turns 12 tomorrow!  Hard to believe!  She loves green, so I paired it was chartreuse.  I used a couple of new products from Septembers release.  I love the new impression plate and the Fillable Frames #8.  I pair it was "celebrate" and the candle from Piece of Cake.  Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Birthday Wishes

From September to December, we have a lot of birthdays in our family.  So I have been making birthday cards to have on hand for when I am busy and can't make a card.  I love how this one turned out since I used my flourish stamp set. I really like the background that it makes.  Enjoy!
