Father's Day

After an amazing day with family on Saturday, we celebrated
Father's Day with my husband and my Dad.
We had such a great day!
My husband did a whole lot of nothing, including a nap, which is unusual for him!
The kids made him this awesome album .
They had a blast putting it together!
Here is the card that I made for my Dad.
He is an amazing guy with such quiet strength!
I used Washi tape in the background.
This was a first for me and certainly will not be the last!
I picked Washi tape to participate in the latest Papertrey Princess Challenge.
I hope all the amazing Dads out there had a great day!

Papertrey Princess Challenge

This month challenge was posted by Diane.
Our challenge is Hawaii themed!
I have not been there is 13 years!
We had a wonderful time when we were there, ahh memories!
For my first card, I opted for felt in bright colors!
I love the tropical feel!
For my second card, I went much simpler.
I used my chevron stamp in the background.
I added some blooms with my sentiment.
Have a fabulous weekend!
Enjoy!!

Papertrey Princesss Challenge

It is my turn to host the latest Papertrey Princess Challenge.
Coming up with a new challenge is always a treat.

My challenge is to make a card that uses any type of die and create a border somewhere on your card.

I chose to make a Valentine's Day card since the holiday is rapidly approaching.
I used my heart dies along with Love Birds stamps from Papertrey Ink.
I used a Kraft card base with Sweet Valentine patterned paper and white card stock.
Red Poppy ink and a little stitching finishes it off.
I can't wait to see what everyone creates!
Enjoy!

Papertrey Princess Challenge

This weeks Papertrey Princess Challenge was  put together by Elena.
Elena challenged the team to create your own background paper.
I used Tree Tops to make my background paper using canyon clay and Hawaiian shores ink.
I add the background paper to canyon clay card stock and topped with felt die cut from limitless layers in Hawaiian shores.
I added a Think Big sentiment stamped in Hawaiian shores on Hawaiian shores card stock.
A bit of rustic jute twine finishes off my card.
What a great challenge....I should make my own background paper more often!
Enjoy!

Papertrey Princess Challenge

Welcome to the newest Papertrey Princess Challenge!
Lee  posted the latest challenge.
She challenged us to make a mini album.
It could be any theme but since Christmas was just here
and my parents celebrated with us, what a perfect thank you gift!
I used a 6x6 AMM album I had in my stash.
Since I don't scrapbook much, this was a fun challenge!
Here are some of the photos.
Enjoy!

I have made some great friends via the world of blogs and I am very thankful!
I wish each one of you best wishes in the the new year
and I look forward to all of the craftiness in 2012!

Happy Birthday and Papertrey Princess Challenge

Time to get back to reality!
I hope everyone had a great long weekend.
We had a whole week of fun, family and eating....made yesterday a rude awakening!
My daughter skated well.
She earned a 2nd and a 3rd place.
This was by far the toughest competition she has been to, so she was thrilled to place!
Great job Abby!!
The birthday fun continues with today's card.
This is also a card for the most recent Papertrey Princess Challenge, posted by BethieJ.
Papertrey Princess Challenge

Hope you have a great week...we are expecting snow, we can't wait!

Papertrey Princess Challenge

Dianne over at Bizzy Bee Creates posted the latest challenge for the Papertrey Princess Group.
Her challenge was to use RED.
Well one of my favorite colors to work with is red, so this was awesome!
I also love the card Dianne posted, red and Kraft look awesome together.
Here is the link to the challenge:
Once I started to get creative with this challenge, I opted to make a Christmas card.
I wanted to use my Iconic Images, as a background stamp.
I then used Tree Trimming Trio and Peace be Still to complete my look.
I am so thrilled with how it turned out!
Enjoy...thanks Dianne for such a great challenge!

Papertry Princess Challenge

A little it ago Leigh posted her Papertrey Princess Challenge.  You can read about it here: http://leighpenner.blogspot.com/2011/09/papertrey-princess-challenge.html
Leigh's challenge was to use two different patterned papers in your card.
I decided to make a fall card using some patterned paper that is perfect for fall.
I continue to love to use my Falling Leaves stamp set and this time opted to add the cute little acorns.
I roughed up the edges and added some twine to finish out my card.
Thanks for the challenge Leigh!
Enjoy!
