Valentine's Day Caramels

Valentine's Day is tomorrow and we have been getting ready!
The kids still take valentine's in the exchange.  They don't have a party anymore, which is fine by me, but trade with friends.
My daughter decided to do this cute idea that we found on Pinterest using Jr. mints, her favorite!
It is fun and super cute!

Every year I make Valentine's Day caramels.  This recipe is super yummy!
We share with the kid current teachers.
Since we have been in the school for 7 years, former teachers always ask for them!
Since the kiddos are in Jr, High now, we just gave to all of those teachers.
I wrap them individually and then this year I made little brown bags that I found at Hobby Lobby.
The caramels are a huge hit every year!  They certainly don't stay around our house very long!

Lastly, Einstein's Bagels has bagel shaped like hearts.
I couldn't resist.  They only have two flavors, cranberry and chocolate chip, both a hit in our house!

Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours!

This week is Valentine's Day week.
As usual we have a lot going on but we always make time for Valentines.
Here is a card I made to share.
I love the sweet little birdies.
More projects to come this week!
Enjoy!

Valentine's Day

Whew...is it Valentine's Day already?
Has it really been that long since I have posted?
Well way too much to be going on to explain, except for to say there has been no time for crafting.

I did manage to get into my craft room and whip up some
Valentine toppers for the annual teacher's caramels.
Once a year, I make these to absolutely to die for caramels to give out to various people.  The list includes the kids current and past teachers since they all ask for them!  This year that did not happen.  So just two bags were made, so it made the task pretty quick.
Apparently they were well received!

Since the kiddos are in 5th grade, Valentines are not quite as fun as they used to be.
So I used this idea for my son.
All of his friends were super excited about the straws and it made for a great item this year!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY to all!
Hope to see you really soon!

Happy Valentine's Day

Two last projects for Valentine's Day.  Over the weekend we made our yummy caramels that we only make once a year.  We packaged several up for the kiddos teachers.  I made a paper favor box to put them in from Papertrey Ink.  The kiddos signed their names and off they went.

Here is my last Valentine's Day card.  Simple and clean using Love Birds.  Enjoy the day with your loved ones!  We have fun plans for the kiddos tonight!

Papertrey Ink's 4th Anniversary- #1

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 4th anniversary this week.  It is such an exciting time because not only are they going to be giving little tidbits of what they are going offer this year but they are holding a contest each day!  Today the contest is to make a card using one of the anniversary tags.  Each one of the designer has submitted one so there are 9 to choose from!  I opted to make a couple of cards from these cute tags.  Here is the firsts one by the talented Lisa Johnson.  I thought that this would be a cute Valentine's Day card.  I hope you enjoy it and all of the other cards that will be submitted today...so much fun!  Enjoy!

All supplies from Papertrey Ink, unless noted
Paper: pure poppy, white, raspberry fizz, simple valentine
Ink: raspberry fizz
other: copic, bakers twine

You are the beat of my heart

Here is another card using my Love Birds set.  The colors are Hawaiian shores with rustic white.  The sentiments says "you are the beat of my heart", the Hawaiian shores ink did not show up very well in the picture.  Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day

After a great weekend away with friends crafting, it was fun to be able to post some of the results!  There is nothing like getting away from reality with great friends and doing something you love.  I was able to remount all of my stamps, finish up Project Life for 2010, finish up a couple of lingering scrapbook pages and have some great conversations!  Too bad the weekend went so fast!
Today's card is another for Valentine's Day.  I love using some non traditional colors in this card.  The green adds a pop of color, don't you think?  I also had fun using my new set Love Birds so cute and fun.  Enjoy!

Valentines....

It is hard to believe that the New Year is here!  I am in the midst of packing up my crafty stuff to head out for a great weekend with friends and all things crafty.  We have a great group of ladies going this year and it will prove to be the best year ever!  I can't wait!  As I am packing up and reorganizing my craft space, I am finding all kinds of scrap paper, buttons and misc stickers.  I am going to try and use up some of these supplies.  Not only is it challenging but is a good way to recycle some items!
Today's card is all about Valentine's Day.  This gave me the opportunity to use up some scrap paper and use a color combination (red and pink) that I do not use that often.  Enjoy!
